Previous studies are often fragmented, leaving a gap in comprehensive quantitative understanding and global thematic mapping. This research aims to provide a thorough portrait of global research on Islamic Character within Quality Education from 2000 to 2025 by mapping publication dynamics, collaboration networks, and thematic clusters. The methodology employed is bibliometric analysis, utilizing the Dimensions database, the PRISMA framework, and VOSviewer software, which yielded a final sample of 11,092 articles. The results indicate a high level of research urgency (total 24,721 citations, peaking in 2023) and a strong resonance as an inter-SDG research nexus. The thematic visualization identifies two dense poles of debate: the Humanistic-Social Crisis Pole (focused on COVID and resilience) and the Technical-Systemic Solution Pole (focused on model and technology). Temporal analysis reveals a rapid shift in focus from Critical Reflection (2020–2022) toward Systemic Intervention (since 2023). Furthermore, a highly integrated collaboration network was discovered. This study concludes that the research field is rapidly moving from crisis response to the development of structured solutions, demanding a balance between humanistic ethics rooted in religious values and the effective utilization of technology to foster holistic human development.
Aziz Muzaki, Muhammad Khoirul Huda, Suparman Copyright (c) 2025 Aziz Muzaki, Muhammad Khoirul Huda, Suparman https://jeici.kips.or.id/index.php/jeici/article/view/22 Sun, 14 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Implementation of Team Games Tournament (TGT) Assisted by Puzzle to Increase Learning Activity of Islamic Religious Education and Character https://jeici.kips.or.id/index.php/jeici/article/view/28
This research is motivated by the low student activity in Islamic Religious Education and Character learning at SMPN 1 Salimpaung, which is still dominated by conventional methods, so that students are less enthusiastic, passive, and have difficulty understanding the material. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Team Games Tournament (TGT) method assisted by Puzzle media on increasing student activity. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study with a posttest-only nonequivalent groups design. The study population was all 32 seventh-grade students of SMPN 1 Salimpaung who were sampled using a total sampling technique. Class VII.1 was designated as the control class and VII.2 as the experimental class. Data were collected through questionnaires and observation sheets, then analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity, and t-tests. The results showed that the average student activity in the experimental class was higher than in the control class, both from the questionnaire results (79 compared to 67) and observations (78 compared to 55). The t-test at a significance level of 0.05 yielded a significance value of 0.000 with t count = -7.627 < t table = -2.042, so H1 was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the TGT method assisted by Puzzle media is effective in increasing student activity in Islamic Religious Education and Character learning, especially in the oral, writing, motor, mental, and emotional aspects.
Masitah Ablisrah, Romi Maimori, Demina, Susi Herawati Copyright (c) 2025 Masitah Ablisrah, Romi Maimori, Demina, Susi Herawati https://jeici.kips.or.id/index.php/jeici/article/view/28 Sun, 14 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0700 The Paradigm of Constructivist Philosophy as an Epistemological Foundation Formation of Meaning in Arabic Language Learning https://jeici.kips.or.id/index.php/jeici/article/view/27
This article discusses constructivism as an epistemological foundation in the formation of meaning in Arabic language learning. The main problem raised is how constructivism explains the process of knowledge construction and how the paradigm is implemented in the pedagogical context of the Arabic language. This research employs a library research method, analysing primary and secondary sources, including philosophy books, epistemological studies, and recent journal articles on constructivism and Arabic language learning. The survey results indicate that constructivism provides a robust theoretical framework for understanding how learners construct meaning through learning experiences, social interaction, and reflection. The application of this approach has been shown to improve students' linguistic and communicative abilities through authentic assignments, collaborative activities, and contextual learning designs. However, its implementation still faces several challenges, including teacher readiness, limited facilities, and an evaluation system that is not aligned with constructivist principles. This article emphasises the need to strengthen teachers' pedagogical competence, provide a supportive learning environment, and adapt the curriculum to make learning Arabic more meaningful and relevant to students' needs.
Mu Ida Nur Fadhilah, Istiada Copyright (c) 2025 Mu Ida Nur Fadhilah, Istiada https://jeici.kips.or.id/index.php/jeici/article/view/27 Sun, 14 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0700 RASUL SAW CLOSED DA'WAH: BUILDING ISLAMIC EDUCATION IN MAKKAH https://jeici.kips.or.id/index.php/jeici/article/view/26
This study examines the strategy of secret da’wah (as-sirriyyah) conducted by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during the early period of his prophethood in Makkah and its contribution to the foundation of Islamic education. In a social context marked by oppression and threats from the Quraysh, the secret approach was chosen as a strategic step to protect the early Muslim community while deeply instilling the values of monotheism (tawhid) and morality. This research employs a qualitative library research method, analyzing relevant scholarly literature from books and accredited national and international journals. The findings reveal that the house of Al-Arqam ibn Abi Al-Arqam served as the first informal Islamic educational institution, functioning as a center for learning, faith strengthening, and character building among the Prophet’s companions. The learning materials focused on aqidah (creed), basic worship practices, moral development, and social solidarity, delivered through methods such as talaqqi (direct instruction), halaqah (study circles), and the Prophet’s exemplary conduct. The secret da’wah not only established the spiritual foundation of the early Muslim community but also created a holistic educational model that integrated cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The educational values applied during this period remain relevant to modern Islamic education, particularly in shaping a generation that is faithful, moral, and spiritually resilient in facing contemporary challenges.
Syuhada Irmadanti, Ellya Roza Copyright (c) 2025 Syuhada Irmadanti, Ellya Roza https://jeici.kips.or.id/index.php/jeici/article/view/26 Sun, 14 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Implementation of Video as a Learning Media in Islamic Religious Education and Character Subjects at Unior High School 1 Padang Ganting https://jeici.kips.or.id/index.php/jeici/article/view/17
This research is motivated by the implementation of video-based learning media in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education at the Technical Implementation Unit of SMPN 1 Padang Ganting, which has been implemented by Islamic Religious Education and Character Education teachers. This video-based learning has been included in the school's strategic plan, namely a digitalized school that has implemented the independent curriculum since the 2022/2025 academic year. This type of research is field research using descriptive qualitative methods. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data processing is carried out descriptively and then described based on the problems that occur in the field using effective sentences. Data sources in this study are primary and secondary. Primary data sources were obtained from the Islamic Religious Education and Character Education teacher, the Principal, and five students. Meanwhile, documentation is obtained in the form of documents related to general findings. Based on research conducted, in planning the implementation of video-based learning media, teachers conduct an initial assessment or diagnostic to determine students' needs and learning styles. Then, they adjust to CP and TP as well as existing learning resources and materials. In the learning process, teachers show videos at the beginning and middle of the learning steps. Teachers often use PBL strategies and combine lecture methods, questions and answers, and discussions so that students can focus and be actively involved in learning.
Silvia Nilis, Romi Maimori, Abhanda Amra, Susi Herawati Copyright (c) 2025 Silvia Nilis, Romi Maimori, Abhanda Amra, Susi Herawati https://jeici.kips.or.id/index.php/jeici/article/view/17 Sun, 14 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Assessment Analysis on P5 Project Based on Local Wisdom in D Phase at MTs Nurul Ilmi Salimpat https://jeici.kips.or.id/index.php/jeici/article/view/15
This study aims to determine the purpose of the assessment itself and its impact on students participating in P5 activities outlined in the current new curriculum, with the theme of local wisdom. However, many teachers still face obstacles in effectively integrating aspects of technology, pedagogy, and content. This study aims to analyze PAI teachers' understanding of the concept of TPACK and its implementation in the learning process. The method used is library research by reviewing relevant literature in the form of books, journals, and scientific articles. The results show that TPACK provides a comprehensive framework for teachers to synergistically combine technology, pedagogy, and content. The application of TPACK in PAI is able to create interactive, contextual, and learning that is in accordance with the characteristics of students in the digital era, as well as assisting teachers in choosing learning strategies that suit their needs. Nonetheless, dynamic technological developments require teachers to constantly adapt and update their skills. In conclusion, this research emphasizes the importance of mastery of TPACK by PAI teachers as a strategy to increase the effectiveness and relevance of religious learning in the midst of ever-evolving technological advances.
Nurul Habibah Arfizeah, Sri Murhayati; Hafizah Copyright (c) 2025 Nurul Habibah Arfizeah, Sri Murhayati; Hafizah https://jeici.kips.or.id/index.php/jeici/article/view/31 Sun, 14 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Foundations for the Development of Islamic Religious Education Curriculum https://jeici.kips.or.id/index.php/jeici/article/view/34

The Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum has a vital role in shaping a generation of Muslims who have faith, knowledge, and noble character. However, curriculum development often faces challenges when it is not grounded in a solid foundation. This research aims to examine the foundations of the PAI curriculum, encompassing philosophical, psychological, sociological, historical, and theological perspectives. The research method employed is library research, involving the collection of data from relevant literature, books, journals, and prior research. The results of this study show that the philosophical foundation provides direction for educational goals based on the values and ideals of society; the psychological foundation adapts the curriculum to students' development; and the sociological foundation emphasizes relevance to social and cultural needs. The historical foundation ensures the continuity of Islamic educational traditions. In contrast, the theological foundation emphasizes the Qur'an and Hadith as the primary sources. This research concludes that the development of the PAI curriculum must be grounded in these five foundations to ensure that Islamic religious education is more effective, more relevant to contemporary needs, and better able to cultivate kamil individuals. This study contributes to strengthening the theory of Islamic education by emphasizing the balance among its spiritual, intellectual, and social dimensions.

Eliza Putri Ardiah, Sri Murhayati, Nurhasnawati; Hafizah Copyright (c) 2025 Eliza Putri Ardiah, Sri Murhayati, Nurhasnawati; Hafizah https://jeici.kips.or.id/index.php/jeici/article/view/34 Sun, 14 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0700
